S.H.A.R.E. helps fund education in Guatemala and Belize

The S.H.A.R.E. Education Fund supports teens to achieve a high school education. Parents value education but may not have funds for the school tuition fees, books and supplies charged in developing countries. Teens in remote rural communities face additional costs and challenges.
Supporting youth in Central America is even more critical than ever before because of the entrenched rural poverty, the growth of gangs, crime and migration.
Education alleviates poverty, opens up opportunities for employment, stems migration, builds confidence and leadership skills, fosters hope and gender equality.
The annual Corn Roast (first hosted by the Harmer family and then by the Thomson family) and strong donations year round have helped raise funds for the Education Fund for over 20 years!
For two years S.H.A.R.E. has had a generous donation from the Luke Four Foundation. This helped to increase the number of S.H.A.R.E. scholarship students.
This fund will continue to support teens in southern Belize and now assists teens in the area of Guatemala where S.H.A.R.E.’s project is already working in remote impoverished Mayan communities.
It is very rewarding to know that S.H.A.R.E. has provided a valuable opportunity for many teens.
